At Creek Dental Group, we know how important it is for our Salt Lake City and Layton patients to have the most beautiful smiles possible. That’s why our cosmetic dentists provide teeth whitening and other cosmetic procedures — to help you get the whitest, brightest smile ever.
Today’s dental patients have so much more to choose from than patients did just a few generations ago. It is now possible to quickly and easily transform your lackluster smile into the perfect Insta-worthy grin with one or more treatments tailored to your needs and wishes.
One of our cosmetic dentist’s most commonly requested services is teeth whitening. White teeth are considered an indispensable part of a beautiful smile. If you were not blessed with the whitest teeth, you no longer have to hide your smile — our cosmetic dentists can help.
We offer two types of teeth whitening procedures: in-office or at home. Our in-office treatment is quick and easy, combining whitening gel with the power of blue LED light to make your teeth bright white in just one visit. The procedure takes about an hour.
If you’re not a fan of spending an hour sitting in the dentist’s office, try our at-home option instead. Just come in and pick up a set of whitening trays, then pop one in every night for the recommended time period. You will quickly see your stained teeth turn sparkling white.
The results from teeth-whitening procedures usually last one to two years before a touchup is necessary. Help yours last longer by putting milk in your coffee or tea to lighten the color, drinking colas and juices through a straw to prevent them from coming into contact with your teeth, or avoid these beverages altogether. Brush immediately after eating acidic foods with staining properties such as tomato sauce. And if you smoke, try to stop.
Veneers — a thin covering for teeth made of porcelain or composite material — are more of a permanent solution to stained teeth than teeth-whitening procedures.
Cosmetic dentists usually avoid placing veneers on healthy teeth, because we must shave a portion of the tooth off to make room for the veneer covering. However, if teeth are chipped, misshapen, severely discolored, or have other defects, veneers are an excellent option.
With veneers, you still keep most of your natural teeth; you simply cover them with an attractive prosthetic. When properly cared for, veneers can last 10 to 15 years. They also resist staining much better than natural teeth, so there’s less need to avoid your favorite foods and drinks.
While porcelain veneers are superior to veneers made of composite material because they keep their shine longer and resist stains better, they come at a higher price point.
